actually the cx500 tank looks great on the smaller hondas like the cb450s and cb350F . but on those bikes it looks like a bread box road race tank (like a seeley tank) and huge. On the cb750 the gigantic engine dwarfs anything you put on there aside from the stock tank.

a quick search for kz1300 tank led me to this.

    Bikes

I'm going back to bed until i can unsee it.
    Bike:
    Buell X1
    Honda S90 (box of parts)
    Honda CB750C (runs)
    The Others (mostly rolling wounded)

My collar may be a little frayed, and maybe I need a shoeshine. But nobody\'s got a mortgage on my soul. I own it. Free and clear. -Phil Lovecraft

wait, I have a pic for this, it even has you in it:

The KZ1300 tank is a neat trick if I can ever get it mounted. Super wide so it fits around the sides of the engine and doesn't look out of place. The pics above show it "resting" on my 1978 cb750F with dunstall parts, one of the reasons the bike looks so good with large tanks is the seat is actually raised up on some 1" bar stock instead of sitting on the frame rails.

The kz1300 tank is nearly 6 gallons so it would make a neat endurance racer tank for sure. I think I paid $40 for that dent free one off ebay 10 years ago.

I have a huge hardon for high-capacity fuel tanks. Not only does the large size of them lend itself to fairly eye-pleasing shapes, but having 5+ gallons of fuel is a wonderful thing.

someday... SOMEDAY, I'll get a bigass fuel tank for the Z1
I thought that a cafe racer was a custom that you could do whatever you wanted and there is no right or wrong.

If you can't pick it back up, don't ride it.
