I owned the more common convertible version of that car for about 18 years, sold it about 16 years ago. Engine was in boxes, put it back together with my dad and drove it all through college and after. I thought I might miss it after I sold it. Turns out, not so much. It was relatively fast for it's time though. In the early '80s I pissed off a buddy of mine by blowing away his brand new V8 Mustang with it. Blew a U-joint apart on it one night shifting into 2nd gear... the cop who showed up shortly after had a clue what had happened but couldn't prove anything so was pretty cool about the whole thing. In fact that car attracted more races than anything else I've owned. Also attracted more police, but I guess those two may have been related...

With the exception of Austin Healeys, Jaguar XKEs, and Jensen Interceptors I don't really hear a lot of people pine for british cars they once had. They have a lot of stories but not a lot of pining for the old days.
Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better.

Now THAT'S funny. You posted this while I was editing my post. While editing my post, it occurred to me I had a lot of stories even though I don't miss it! Even the process of selling it led to a story.

The MGB GT. I saw a sweet MGB convertible at the Moonshine Festival here last year with a nicely done Olds aluminum V8 in it, sweet. The MGB GT was not an uncommon or rare car.

The one posted before is a MG C GT, never knew they came with a straight 6, that year only. The 6 was 200lbs heavier than the standard 4cyl. And threw off the cars balance so they discontinued it.

I carry a gun because I'm too young to die, too old to take an ass whooping, and a cop is too heavy.
