Hey Ralph - did you shorten the cans on your Swarbricks? They look shorter than the ones I got with my pipe kit.

Jim I did shorten the cans maybe 4 inches. They were too long, too heavy, and put too much stress on the welded flange, as evidenced by both flanges cracking and breaking off. If you look at my avatar pic you can see the stock length.

That is a set of Swarbrick racing pipes. They come in kit form and you weld them up on the specific T500 (ideally) they are going to be used on. To get them to tuck in correctly the centerstand and sidestand mounts have to go.

Swarbrick Racing - Specialists in the manufacturer of Early / Fogotten Era Silencers - Lancashire - UK

Not sure if the current kits come with the barrel stubs with alloy inserts. If not spend the extra for them.

Desmocat's Swarbricks have the Jethot ceramic finish on them that reduces heat transfer and looks like vintage chrome.

Wow, amazing to see that Swarbrick are still going, I had a set on my X7 in 1991. Beautifully made, light as anything and gave great power through the rev range, no other changes and the motor was revving much higher compared to the old microns I had on before. Quieter as well!

If memory serves me right they were £210 inc VAT so they've gone up 50% in price which isn't too bad for 25 years.

I have had a few T500s and weigh over 300lbs and I have never had a kick start snap or break. What the fuck are you doing that broke a piece of case hardened steel?
Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better.
