Nice score, although aren't Moto Guzzi's for old farts? No doubt your bride will appreciate it more than the Commando.

Reno Leoni would like to have a word with you (hint: his moto guzzi is the one in the middle with the large trophy, Mike Baldwin is the rider holding the trophy, track is Loudon):

I think I replied on another forum that I think the fork springs are chopped, or missing.

Just yanking his wire. You can't say that's a race bike he has there. Next thing you know, he'll be driving a van.

Went for a nice ride yesterday.

I know...but this thread needed a guzzi race bike pic.

When I first met Jaguar, he had a van. A 60's ford or Chevy with a blown up clutch and trans so he could only drive in like second and third or something like that. Sold him a bike in a rest stop on the side of the long island expressway. no glory holes were involved.

Figure it is just nice to talk about what is going on in the shop.

for the time being the CL450 will be the main ride.
    season is just starting.

The fiancé and I have snuck a few rides in on it already. Would be nice to have something better for just cruising around.

Enter a 1970 Moto Guzzi Ambassador.
in my eyes this is about as close to a Harley as I will ever get.

    recently picked it up.
while BEAUTIFUL, it has not been run in a while and needs at the very least a basic service.

only thing so far that jumps out at me is that the forks seem frozen in the compressed position.
    unsure what's going on there.
Yeah, I ride a Guzzi over a HD any day.
So nice to see some Italian bikes here

Reno Leoni built some pretty decent Ducatis too. I got to watch Stewart Johnson and Jimmy Adamo both drive away from me like I was tied down when they were on his bikes.

I do love the MG though, good find there Jag. I have always wanted a Lemans 1K but just never made it happen.

    My old van.
    1967 108 (LWB).
Had a straight six in it. At some point someone swapped the power glide out for a T350 or some other three speed.
I daily drove it for about two years. Was doing more then 100 miles a day in it.
For the 40kish miles that I had it I never had it miss a beat.
Sure it leaked EVERYTHING, and at the end the converter shit the bed so I had to hit neutral to come to a stop....lol
Was great at hauling bike, and it was just overall fun.

Sold the van after I bought a 1948 Dodge.

The girl I was seeing at the time HATED the van and refused to ride in it.
My though process was that the Dodge would be something we could enjoy together....I was wrong again.
That girl is no longer in my life, neither is the Dodge.
    I am Derby\'s Bitch

Some times things come around that are so singularly inept it gives you a whole new appreciation for the ept
