SW-Moitotech makes a nice soft bag for not too much money, is difficult to put much on the sides of a bike that has huge high mount exhausts, the hard bags end up being miles wide and high with little usable capacity ymmv. In addition to that I would be wearing a slouch backpack that rests on the pillion saddle. If you are talking about 2-up traveling plus luggage and a tail bin, good luck with that, should have bought a BMW.

I had SW-Moitotech mono-key with Givi hard luggage on my 650 Versys capacity was fine bike was wide but never noticed riding. They locked held a full face helmet stayed dry and removed easily.

I used to have a set of Chase-Harper Stealth bags. I threw them in on a bike sale and I've regretted it. They're on the small side, but they fit on nakeds and sport bikes quite nicely, and mine held up well for many years. Nicely shaped and fairly rigid for throw-over bags. Currently available on Ebay for under a C-note.
