No paperwork, which can be troublesome:

No paperwork is pretty much a deal killer for me. How are you guys dealing with that situation?

thanks Staggerlee I already went to check that one out. There is no title though. That is my only hold up on it.
Therein lies the rub when you've got a $500 budget.

I bought my cb360 w/o title (I had my reasons, among them the $300 price, with 4,000mi showing - too good to pass up and there was reason to believe it was a legitimate sale). In MI, there are forms to be filed at Sec of State office (DMV for some of you) and a police inspection. Mine came back stolen during the police inspection and a couple state troopers escorted me into a windowless room to ask a few questions about my "possession of stolen property". It turned out fine in my case & I got to keep the bike. Once the bullshit was straightened out, State Trooper provided me with everything I needed to title the bike in my name. My suggestion is to phone your state police and ask them the procedure/requirements to register a bike with no title. At any rate, be prepared if your VIN comes up as a stolen vehicle. Were I to buy another bike w/o title, I would phone State police ahead of time with the VIN & make sure it's not stolen.

It really is a huge pain in my state. I did find that its-title website though. I may consider that but that makes it a 500 non running bike. I am not sure its worth it.

Are there any 2 strokes out there that would work for me?
