    buddies xj650 maxim - YAY! A Maxim!

i know that i posted this bike before but couldn't find that thread, so luck you guys...you get a new topic!

So buddy has had this bike a while. Wanted to make it look fresh and cooler.

Didn't do much. Mostly powder and paint. New bars, and brake hose and master. New tires and a tracker seat. moved the sets back and up a good bit.

So aside from a cleaning, i think i'll call him and tell him to come pick it up. Wish i could have talked him out of the flame paint work his friend did but you know...

not too shabby, too bad he didn't see gregg's customs R1 tracker before he gave the green light to the flame job but for a low buck update and general once over, I'd say ya done good. cheers, bcr

Anything was better then how it was before. It looks pretty good though. How much did you dump into it to get it where it is now?

About $900 plus my time. Including tires, rearsets, seat and upholstery, led signals, powder, and all bearings. Sounds wicked. Real fast revs and racey for 65hp or whatever its got.

The flames rock! Spokes would be cool, but so would xs750/850 non-swirly alloys.....

    ....coming from you...this is irony.

Spoked wheels look great, and would on this bike! Geets, do you just automatically hate what someone else likes? Don't you own a few bikes with spoked wheels?

I own plenty of bikes with spoked wheels....and mags....

what I dislike is this automatic assumption that things look more cafe with spoke wheels. the bike looks great the way it is. who cares if it is "cafe" or not.

really I just like stirring the pot.

No shit, huh? I don't think 'cafe' was mentioned with regard to the spokes wheels...just that they'd look cool.
