Corey,
A buddy of mine is interested in buying a new TU250 as a general purpose commuter bike. He is about 6', 160 lbs.
What is a comfortable cruising speed for the stock bike? Are there any bolt on hop up parts? He does not want to do much tinkering, just ride. He is worried the 250 will be a little small and would like a 350, but I am not aware of any UJM's in the 350-500cc range for around that $4K mark.
Share your thoughts please.

Haven't left yet, were leaving this afternoon.
Majority of your aftermarket is JDM.
They make exhausts etc but they're not imported - (although I can get you one.)
I own one I've modified, it opens it up real well with the Power Commander.
I've pulled the secondary butterfly, eliminated the PAIR system (have extra pieces if he's interested). Free'ed up the intake and the exhaust.
It's a suitable bike for non touring duty. With a sprocket change I've had an 85mph top speed, or second gear wheelies, which ever you prefer - just not both.
Its fairly light and nearly modular, and very fun to own, but if he thinks he needs bigger, he probably does.
Bigger and you're looking at EX500's or something completely dissimilar if he wants a newer bike.
I am quite a bit heavier than him, and a tad shorter, the flat seat would probably be better. The factory seat is two piece the front "solo" seat is a tad short. I tend to sit on the edge of the pan. At 6' he'll want a longer or 1 piece flat seat.
He is welcome to email me.
