    Live In Philly? Read CL?

First time poster, long time lurker. Ever since I bought my new (to me at least) CB350 and began pondering a cafe project I've been pilfering knowledge from the forums, thought it might be time to register and contribute.
So, for my first post... I've noticed some guys on here seem to be close to the philly area, I'm in West Chester. The other day I answered an ad on the Philly CL page concerning a 350 parts alotment, for only $20. Sent a guy down there, apparently after calling and e-mailing to confirm I still missed out. He gave them away an hour before the schedualled pick up. Wondering if any of you guys picked thouse up. No hard feelings, just wondering if you'd be willing to part with the seat pan and a few other items i was hoping were in the pile of junk this guy was practially giving away.
Even if you didn't get the parts, I'd still be interesting in any feedback for a Philly area newbie. Anyone else local? know of good shops or events? have suggestions for begining my first cafe project?

TT, thanks for the generosity! The stock parts I am looking for include a seat pan(to have a cafe seat built on, just need the pan) a stock clutch lever, and a grab handle(the one used to get the bike on the center stand). I'd be happy to arrange to buy or trade for these parts. Right now the only thing I have to offer in trade is a set of highway bars that were on the bike when I purchased it... probably not too much interest unless you're a Harley guy who somehow found himself on a Honda... they are hideous.
Currently I'm in the midst of swapping the stock bars for straight bars (my first alteration). Any input on this project or future ones would be greatly appreciated. Made the mistake of asking planet honda to order custom cables... a week wasted and no cables even ordered! Getting the cable/bar project back on track this week. Wondering if anyone has drag/straight bars on their CB350 and could advise me of any other potential problems. Thanks for the arm welcome and the informative replies.

you can have the OEM pan, but it may be too big and bulky for a good cafe conversion, but that's up to you. also, matt tanner (on this forum) makes really hot seats/tanks/etc for these bikes.

i don't have the other bits, i tend to go through levers at an alarming rate and never had the other stuff. if you want a light, paired-down cafe type, you may even want to loose the handle and the centerstand. just more weight and bulk. of course, it doesn't display as well on the sidestand.

send me an email if you'd like the pan with your address, and i'll get it out as soon as possible....which with me is nevery really fast.

    best-

levers you can get from parts unlimited. that is, if you just need the lever and not the entire assembly. entire assemblies i loan out occassionally at the racetrack for maple syrup! i love waffles!
