A couple of questions about my 1978 CB400 Hawk

    Hi all,

I am brand new to not only this forum but also to owning a motorcycle. I now own a 1978 Honda CB400 Hawk II. The engine runs fine and it shifts through all the gears all right. My concerns now revolve around the cosmetics and electrical wiring. My two biggest issues right now are my seat sucks and I can't seem to get my headlight to work. The tail light works just fine...

Let's worry about one thing at a time. I have the Clymer repair manual and am confident that I can get to the bottom of the electrical issue. The seat, however, is bugging me. Right now, I have replacement on there that doesn't bolt into the frame or connect to my side panels. Should I invest in a newer seat or find a seat from the original model? Would a newer seat even work?

    Please help!

You sound like a regular citizen. You have enough education to write complete sentences, you have enough money to afford a motorcycle, and you are internet-savvy enough to find this forum. But you don't own a camera? Dude, you asked a question about the way the seat fits on your motorcycle, and tell us it's not a stock seat, but you can't get it together and snap a photo so we might know what the fuck seat you are talking about?

A retarded chimp could figure out how to google "cafe racer forum"
And it doesn't take any money to own a hawk.

Can't make a seat fit on the Internet
Get wrenches and figure it out, find someone local and meet leople

Don't touch the electrical system. It's fine, you're rolling a hawk. That bike was designed to be ignored. You might have a smoked fuse or spent bulb, or perhaps a corroded connection. Those are the only reasonable options.

You are thinking old school king and queen diamond tuck? in which case you'll need to be prepared for some serious tail. Yes, friend you will score mad digits, the babes will be lined up and awaiting your call. Do it! Effin A!

Post a pic, I think I've got a good seat stashed for one of them.
