    Worth Getting A Motorcycle Jack?

Planning to do some major work on the bike. I would love to buy/build a ride-on motorcycle stand. But I just don't have room in my 2 car garage for a 7' x 3' stand (I know, at least I have a garage). What about a motorcycle jack? They take up a lot less room, but are they stable enough? What do you guys use?

or if space is an issue you can use something like the SEARS brand motorcycle jack or just a plain old jack stand will do the trick.

I use an old milk crate, they are free and get the job done.

    Yeah right.

I think you forget sometimes that not everyone can just PICK BIKES UP and set 'em on a milkcrate.

BTW- I heard you put A.D.s 175 in a messenger bag, jumped on yer 750 and brought the bike to works. Is it true? Are you the new tow-guy in town?

I some bikes are too heavy to pick up, I use a car jack on the swingarm pivot and some blocks of wood to get the bike high enough then slide the crate under. Once it is on there I can rip both suspension pieces apart and go to town. The only down side, and this is true of the sears motorcycle ATV stand (I own one also and rarely use it), is that on some bikes you either have to remove the pipes or use blocks of wood to make sure the bike is on the frame and not sitting on it's pipes.

As far as AD's 175, I don't need no stinking messenger bag...I just put that biddy in my back pocket and rode over there. Seriouslt though I am the new wheelman, at least until I drop another customer bike off the lift and AD kicks my nuts into outer space.
