A couple of hipster bikes I kind of like

Since the vast majority of "fashion builds" get thoroughly trashed here, I figured I'd toss out a couple of them that I'd seen in the last couple of days that I kind of like -- not love, but don't hate either, and they seem to have decent functionality and workmanship.

This shouldn't work, but I like the exposed Ninja 250 engine. The radiator and cooling pipes are kind of wide and sort of kludgy, and I'd prefer some real street tires, but it actually has fenders and side covers and adequate clearance and a reasonable riding position. I like this a whole lot more than I'd expect if you described it to me.

Okay, this one's really not my style, but reading the blog entry, it sounds as though the guy worked on making it mechanically sound first, which is refreshing. I think the tail is too stubby, but I know that's the fashion nowadays and I'm an old fart. It should have an airbox and fenders, of course, but at least it has a decent fork brace and reasonable handlebars.

So, there you go. Next time somebody wants to say that we never have anything nice to say about the trendy "builds" posted elsewhere on the web, you can point them here. Of course, if you think these are no less crappy than all the other stuff out there lately, I am always open to persuasion.

I've thought about building a KZ chopper.

i like those for the most part...nothing too flashy....not a fan of the seat color on the kz though...also don't like the mesh over the taillight...maybe if cutouts for the lights in it or just take it off. guy that put together the kz is same guy that designed new Bell Bullit helmet.

I'm really feeling this beemer.....straight out of star wars.
