this gives you an idea of how big the museum is, this is only 1 hangar of 4:

I also figured out that not signing up to the AF to be a fighter pilot when I was 16 was the smart move considering that sitting in the F4 cockpit I was still looking over the windscreen:

Or that Harrison Ford dropped in while you were there:

Jag and I had a good laugh about that scene. We figured it was a smart use of an airplane that probably wasn't all that notable on it's own to be displayed:

AT-9 Jeep, a.k.a "Jane Russell" — my all-time favorite aircraft.
Here's a link to an article I wrote about it a few years ago: Atomic Toasters | AT-9 Jeep: Deliberately Being Difficult

I never saw a 109 up close. I always thought it was really remarkable they came up with something like that considering the pounding they were taking.

Until I went I had never seen an FW-190 in real life (seen about 2 or 3 ME 109s including a flying one and a replica). Actually until I went to that museum there was a lot I hadn't seen that now I have.

I love P6E hawks but the last one left is at the museum.

Surprised at the number of re-purposed civilian aircraft for military use. We saw a Cessna 195 on floats, a 310, a navion, a Cessna 172, a v35 bonanza, Cessna 337, a Lear jet, an otter, and a few others.

That A-10 warthog still just jumps out at me. Love that bully.
