    Newbie from Bay Area CA -CB100

    Hello everyone... newbie here from the SF bay..
    Came across a bit up CB100 for $50 and I'm wanting to built a mini Cafe.
    Turns but doesn't start.. I'm picking it up tomorrow...I know I'll have lots of work in front of me
    Any info or comments appreciated

    If it turns great.
    Check if the engine has compression.
    Check if you have spark
    Take the carb off give it a good clean.
    Check the timing (replace point nice and cheap.
    Fresh petrol and see if she fires.
    Go through the safety features (fresh shoes, check tires etc)
    Ride it for a bit see if you enjoy riding (you will either hate it cos it and give up or get the bug and will be wanting a bigger displacement bike very soon)
    In my opinion small displacement cafe bikes can be cool.
    Nobody gives a shit if you hack up a 100cc lawn mower. So have at it and have some fun.
    Steer clear of the usual mistakes ie,
    Pipe wrap
    Clip ons with no rear sets
    No front fender
    No inner rear fender
    Cutting the back of the frame without bracing it again (most people here will tell you not to cut at all but it's your bike so have at it, just make sure it's safe by adding the strength back)
    Rear tyre clearance not considered
    Sliding the forks up in the trees to lower the bike.
    Pod filters with cv carbs (deleting the airbox unless you design a new one with the same volume and flow is a no go)
    Turn signals and the other lights on the bike are there for your safety so for the love of God keep them.
