Very cool looking rig. I don't think I've seen that engine before, looks like a speedway type.
    What's it run on?
    What's the tranny?
What do you expect for top speed?
What kind of tires/wheels for front and sidecar?
    What's the rear wheel from?

    Inquiring minds want to know...

If you look at his other posts it is a norton with a speedway engine. Used to have a manx engine.

Sorry, I wasn't paying attention to the other forum and if Geeto wan't to yell at me fine. I'm a computer neaderthal and probably wouldn't understand what he was yelling at me.

FR, The motor is another Weslake 500 single. Pushrod, not OHC, don't know the exact year. I bought it as a spare for my Norton. The sidecar has been rattling around in my head for a good while. A brief description: 3"x1" rect. tubing for the frame. 110" wheelbase, Norton AMC trans but it will be changed for an old laid down as soon as I get it back together. The front wheel is off an Austin Mini and the forks are cut down Kawasaki. The back wheel is a Triump and it is held up by a cut up BSA swing arm. It has a body. But its mainly to duct air across the motor. Tried to make it swoopy. Bit rough but it may work.

Last year it was supposed to be ready for El Mirage dry lake but wasn't. I put the motor in the Norton to see how it would run. In Sept. it ran 124.900 so I'm not unhappy with it. I run VP C12 race gas. 14:1 comp., 35 deg. fixed advance and a 45mm Mikuni carb.

It will be ready for May and hopefully it will run as fast as above. I know its not a cafe racer but it is a racer(maybe).

I'm not yelling at anyone, I'm just pointing out that y'all need to pay more attention to how you post pics here and you can't just cut and paste. It is frustrating for a lot of people when their pics don't show up. This board can't support a lot of the fancy code that some of the web hosting sites use.

If you haven't noticed I have been going through and editing the pic codes to try and make it look a little cleaner. I'm kind of playing around in this post to see what imageshack will allow and not allow.

but maybe I am coddling people too much. maybe they need to get frustrated so they figure out how to get the image to show.

on that note back to bike related:

one thing I will never understand about the US is how sidecar racing did not get popular here. Some of those side car rigs look way cool and the monkey moving about on the rig is such a neat looking thing to see.

I mean we race barstools in the country for cristsake yet we can;t get people to care about super fast bikes with huge slicks where there is a guy jumping around on it? go figure

nice rig BTW, you gonna try for a red hat?
