Vintage Celebration @ NHIS

I was able to get off work Friday the 18th (gotta work Saturday, though). Weather permitting, I'm planning to ride the RD over to nose around. Maybe I'll buy a Caferacer.net T-shirt to wear.

don't know when you'll show, but if you can do some corner workering, many caferacer types would appreciate it and you'd get the BEST seats in the house. no better places to watch and no better way to learn. (unless you get a zack man wispering in your ear as you circulate on your own racer).

p.s. hope you don't have to work sunday and can return...

I'll second that, best seats in the house and a great way to lend a hand.

Anyone know if NHIS allows Chimnea's or contained firepits in the infield? Their website says they allow cook fires but I think that applies to camping outside of the pits.

As long as you don't start a bonfire, and don't use one of their garbage barrels they don't seem to mind. I do think that there is a rule that you are not supposed to have a fire on the ground itself...although I've seen that done too. Fires on the grass are a no-no.

The Wanker Racing Group will be setting up camp just to the right of the tunnel (as you enter the infield) near T2. Close enough to the bathrooms for that midnight dump, yet far enough from the bathrooms not to be too close (get it).

Stop by for a beer in the evening either night. I hear TT will be bringing his guitar... I hopefully will not be in the garage all night working on the wankermobile 3... My goal is to have that all done before I get to the track. varoom varoom!

Champ: You know my oldest kid (Josie) is a true race fan. The pictures are her sleeping near the wanker racing group campsite back in 2005, I think that was TT's first season with USCRA. Anyway, you can see by the tent location she was close to t2, sleeping while you crazy guys raced motorcycles mere feet away (Note for you parents wanting to call child services, the tent was protected by fences and jersey barriers...

Note my wife's Ls650 single in the background. I can't wait to get my hands on that engine and throw it into an interesting frame. Should make a neat cafe bike engine someday!
