Both my wife and I ride and the kids (1.5 yr and 4yr) are around bikes all the time. Here is myy daughter a few years ago camping off of T2 at NHIS.

I am going to wait until she is 7 or 8 and if she has interest, I will get her a small 50 or 80cc bike to ride. That is just my choice, since she is a bit shy and at 4 has not expressed an interest to ride. I think the Hadden boys started real young on dirt bikes. Get 'em goin'.

    my two sense:
kid needs to be good on a bicycle first...
...training wheels suck...especially on a motorcycle.
be careful with the ex: she has to be on board with the program.
good luck; let us know how it plays out.

parks; father of an 8 year old (boy) who is very good on two (non-motorized) wheels.

None of my kids show much interest in learning to ride a bicycle, let alone a motorcycle. Don't understand it - when I was a kid a bicycle was like having a car of your own. You were mobile & could run away to wherever you liked. I couldn't wait to learn to ride a bicycle. Independence, baby! This new generation is a bunch of softies.
