Gotta have at LEAST a direction of bike you want to go , right ?
If they call a sheep a ram.
    And a donkey an ass.
Why do they call a ram in the ass a goose?

I am going to look at a 71 CB350 tomorrow. Finally found my inspiration too.

Are those front race fairings rare? What is the price range on one of those? How do I even start looking? What are they called?

    incert dollars now!

    fairings aren't rare....

check out clubman accessories, TGA, glass from the past, airtech, or email the monkey on this board.

tanks like that....again, monkey, toadtown racing, hansen honda, tga, airtech, etc......

your probably gonna drop $1500 for all that bodywork, plus paint......figure $2000.

tex I don't know who does your $500 paint jobs but round 'ere if I show up to a body guy with all that stuff needing paint the bill would be $1000 minimum just to cover that in chemical skin. figure $3K in cosmetics alone if you buy all new stuff and have it pro painted. I am pretty sure you can get an actual race bike cheaper than that with all that on it.

he knows hes not building anything street legal yes? texas just finally started cracking down on anything with two wheels, even dudes on bicycles(for riding with traffic, which i guess cops dont know is legal here). tickets for plate placement, signals... but we still serve alcohol till 2am... gotta keep roads safe right?

till 2am? fucking pussies, bars are open till 4:30am here.

still, fiberglass is techincally not road legal, however lots of old 1970s bikes came from the factory with fiberglass (most 70's nortons and all of the special norton models) so there may be something where you are grandfathered in.

check tejas laws, you need signals on 1960 or newer vehicles (woof! in NY it is 1985 or newer - how did you guys sell any bikes in the 1960s, they all came without blinkers?).

here in austin the new police chief has cops pulling over bikes that dont look street legal, just to check them. half of these cops dont know shit about bikes or the laws theyre enforcing.
    honk if youre horny.
