    1975 Honda CB360 - Now with pictures!

    Hi Everyone,
I have posted a few times already but thought I should finally add my bike to the list of project builds.
A few months ago I took a gamble and bought a bike off Craig's List for $200. It was a 1975 Honda CB360. It didn't run but appeared to be intact. I have always loved the Honda CB350/360 and it was an opportunity I didn't want to pass up. Like the other bikes on this forum, I want to build it into a cafe racer.
I have my first child on the way so I have until the beginning of May to get this bike running. Once our son arrives I have the feeling my attentions will be diverted elsewhere.
My friends/coworkers don't think I can get it running by then. I hope to prove them wrong.
I will try to get some pictures posted soon.
Right now I have stripped the tank and lined the inside with POR-15. It wasn't too rusty but just trying to play it safe. In a few days I will start filling the small dents and get a coat of primer on it.
I just checked the compression and I'm getting 100psi from both cylinders. Big sigh of relief since I really wasn't sure what shape the motor was in.
I have 30mm Mikuni carbs on the way along with a manifold and pod filters.
I want to get the motor running first and then I can start tackling all the other items. . . Rebuild the forks, rebuild brakes, rear suspension, cosmetics, etc.

I guess that's all for now. We got a few inches of snow last night so I hope to use that as an excuse to stay indoors and clean parts.

Ok, I hope this works. Here are a couple of images of my CB360 when I bought it. I'll add pictures as I proceed with the build.

You can see the battery cut off switch the previous owner had wired to the ignition. :-) Fortunately they didn't cut any wires. The new ignition switch snapped right on.

I have had some time to work a little on my bike. Mostly on the gas tank. I stripped the paint and coated the inside with POR-15. Finally I am finished filling in the dents. It took a while to get things right. But its almost ready to prime and then paint. And my new carbs arrived! Mikuni VM-30s. Here are a few pictures.

Stock pipes, Matt, and prone to rust through at the ends. Good ones fetch big money on eBay. Hell... mediocre ones fetch big money.

I kinda like the big red battery cutoff.
