    progress on my cb350 today

I've made some progress today on my cb350.
fitted a cb400f gas tank using suzuki gs front mount and stock cb350 rear mount relocated.I welded a cb350 lookalike rear bracket to the cb400 tank.
I installed tapered streering brg too.i still have to figure out the top nut. They give some instruction in the allballs kit to modify the stock nut.
for the rear cowl i use a suzuki GK rear tail and narrowed it 2 1/4 in.I only made a couples of "spotweld" for the mockup. The tank and seat are rubbers mounted.
    Here are some pics.

Cool. Looking forward to seeing how the cowl turns out. I don't recall having to modify anything to fit the AllBalls kit though, should just be a matter of fitting the correct spacer.

That tail piece looks pretty good, did you "spot weld" it with heat? I am courious about repairing those plastic parts, do you know how to do a more perminant repair on it? I'd like to see about that. I think the suzuki tail is a good match for that tank, I'm looking forward to seeing how it comes out. keep up the good work!

    thanks,
I just milled the flange inside the top nut.I have to do this to put preload to the inner race of the top bearing.
I welded the seam with a small pencil type soldering iron.I made a pass on the 2 sides. Its been years that i use this method and this is a permanent repair.I have to fill the exterior with bondo on the weld.I will post pic of the tail welded.I have removed the indent for the rear reflectors too.

    I laced(but still have to trued) a NOS did wm3 X18" to a t500 hub.

I welded a fitting on the torque arm for the rear brake cable.

I will have to find-buyor make a baffle like this one.

    Yes,
The projct is slower than my liking,
My front end is sorted, only have to buy spokes and new fork tubes.
    I have cb500 forks with kawasaki gpz550 triple tree(35mm with 4 lower pintch bolts) and a gt750 brake + a tannermatic fender.
I will post a couples of pic.
I havent touched the bike for at least 6 months.
