    Honda CL90 Cafe Racer build.

I was not sure how to post this since it is almost done. I just hunkered down over the holidays and worked for 2 weeks almost non stop and I am at the point where I have nothing left to do but wait for the spokes to arrive and get my paintwork back from my buddy. Since he did such a great job for such a reasonable price on my CB350 I figured I'll let him do this as well. Besides it is to shit ass cold here this week to consider any kind of paint work and off course back to work. So to start us off here are a few tear down and fabricating pictures.

    Before I started.

Then after I junked all the fenders and made the mods to relocate the gas tank and mount the CB110 race bike seat.

Here is a picture of someone sitting on it to give you an idea of how small it is.

    Some pictures after tear down.

These were a bitch to get stripped down, all the nipples were rusted. The old tires were sort of rusted onto the rims. Had to use a tire machine to break the bead on the rear.

Had to make a puller to strip down the rear shocks. After about $5 worth of stuff from Lowe's this is what I came up with, works great.

In September I went to the Bull city Rumble in Durham, NC and found an S90 motor for $50. It only has 6k miles on it with good compression. So I just did a motor swap and will junk the old unit.

After many hours of cleaning, glass blasting and powder coating with my kit from Harbor Freight and an old kitchen oven, this is what emerged.

The handle bars looked all wrong being so wide, so I chopped about 3 inches out the center and welded it back together.

Motor cleaned and painted. Frame came back from the powder coater. It was too big to fit in my oven . Put together the shocks and forks. These things are so easy to take apart and put together. I must have spent 45 minutes on the shocks and forks in total. I worked real slow to not scratch up anything. Took 15 minutes to get the shocks, forks and triple tees on. Easy peasy.

Reems (rims) powder coated and ready to be "spoken for". Damn those spokes I ordered better come soon. Had to order them from Thailand.
