    CB:
    Turbine smooth
More expensive to get a "barn find" back on the road
    Comfortable
Harder to set up, but holds a tune great

    Norton:
    Like riding a paint mixer
Feels more "eager" to go fast
Have to deal with small "issues" like leaks or noises

Both are easy to get parts for.
    Both get looks when out.

Well it was not so much a leaking line as it was a cracked oil tank!

Going to try and weld it Friday, but unsure if that will work.
    Anyone have a tank?

Was extra pissed because I had changed the lines (one was cracked a bit), refilled the tank and started the bike.
So much fun having another 2 quarts of 20/50 puke onto the parking lot.

    Joys of old broken motorcycles....
Thought this was supposed be a zen thing?

At the end of the day shit happens.
While it is fun to laugh at the British bike leaking oil, this could have happened on any bike.
I now know that this small weep that I was chasing was more then likely a small crack in the tank.

Have a local welder braze it up and don't replace the bottom bolt.

Wouldn't a Caswell or POR-15 kit work to seal the oil tank?

Caswell would seal it, but I DEFINITELY DON'T recommend it.

Brazing will work. I know from experience. Having rode Nortons on the street for many years that is not uncommon.

Got the tank back from Colorado Norton Works last night. They did a beautiful job. Tank is going to make the rest of the bike look like shit now!

What I had not realized is that the rear mount on the tank was missing this whole time! Sure that didn't help things......

Bottom mount will never crack again....

    Also capped the chain oiler.

Plan to put the tank it this weekend, polish the bike up, take some pictures and eBay the bike.
Time to move on to something new. Have my eye on a few options.

Have wanted a Norton for a while.
Very much enjoyed learning about these bikes and wrenching. Got a fair bit of use out of it this summer too.

To me bikes are tools for a job and offer a unique experience. I find different experiences fun.

Happy with how the bike turned out.
If you want a Norton, PM me....
