Mine just needs fork seals and tires, so I will just do that instead of destroying it.

got the Frame back last week and started to put her back together, waiting on some more parts to come in but shes 80% there. Wiring up the new Dynatech ignition doesn't look so bad but figuring out the speedometer with gear indicators looks interesting. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 1982 Gs1100E?

So I got her all together but I will be tearing her back down. Picked up my 1327cc big block kit with pistons off ebay and cant wait put it in. In the mean time i wanted to see if other had recommendations on which carb to upgrade to... the stock BS32 weren't even good with the 1166cc kit i could tell due to lack of vacuum with the pods and Vance & Hines exhaust that bike was not running properly. I am thinking about going with the Mikuni RS38 Flat sides over the 36s because of the big block and free flowing exhaust and PODs. Any suggestions??

finally got my head back from Mikes Lazer porting and man what a piece of art. Milled down, opened intake and exhaust ports, larger valves and SS springs and valves.... cant wait to bolt her back together. Plus I have some Mikuni 38s on order...

Is a thing of beauty! now you need to dump those hateful CV carbs before they give you tuners nightmare.

Is there something weird with that photo or did he cut the guides too short before installing them? If so, hopefully they are intake and not exhaust. And my guess would be they are exhaust as the other ones appear to have a vacuum port ....

That's the way the kids are porting them these days. Compromising longevity for a pretty looking head.
Sure it might flow great on the bench, but the loss of valve guide area and the boss plus the big block and those valve probably will be burnt and wobbling in a couple hundred miles.

Actually Lazer porting has been doing this stuff for probably 25+years now. I had a zx-11 head ported back in late 90's. So, who knows....
    Sure looks purdy though.
