    Bimota SB6R

So my new toy showed up over the weekend!

    A 1998 Bimota SB6R.
The "S" means that the bike runs a Suzuki motor.
    B for Bimota frame
6 because it is the sixth bike they made with a Suzuki motor (not that it is a 600cc)
R because it is the later "upgraded" version.

This bike is powered by a watercooled GSXR1100 motor.

Have had the itch for a Bimota for a while.
This one popped up and I just had to make a deal.

Bike has not run in a couple of years, so needs a fairly good service.
But other then that it should be good to go.

Nice bike! I've been a fan since seeing my first one at the dealership I bought my second Ducati from. I recall studying the tooling paths that were visible on the triple clamp... weird the stuff you remember... I've wanted a DB2 for years but never pulled the trigger on one.

Anywhos, good luck with it. It'll be interesting to hear what you think about it after you've given it some TLC.

The machining on the billet is super interesting.

So far I am impressed with the fit/finish and the materials used.
It feels SUPER light and well balanced.

I remember wanting one of these back in the day. Racing TZ250 won out. Should be quite dependable with the 1100 stuffed inside. SO carbs or did they inject the beast?

Service photos when it comes time!

I dont think Bimota ever ran FI on the 1100.
    This one runs OEM carbs.

I need to figure out a set of throttle cables.
The Bimota part number is not a Suzuki numbers.

    Parts ordered,
    -Battery
    -Air filter material
    -Spark plugs
    -Oil filter
    -Carb gaskets

Started polishing up the body work too.

You couldn't fill a thimble with what I know about Bimota but that's a beautiful bike. Italian design, Japanese engine sounds best of both worlds to me, especially nice if you already have a Ducati.

I'd love to see photos when you have the cowlings off.
