pods on a stock bike (even with rejetting) = no gain or loss of power + loss of driveability.

not only will you have to rejet but you will most likely have to re-sync the carbs as well. A lot of that has to do with the weather conditions of where you live (density alitutde, etc).

The majority of japanese bikes from the 1970s are really well engineered, which means all the components are meant to work together and do so quite well. A lot of people see a reduction in hp and torque when switching to pods because the airflow changes (usually due to people shitcanning the velocity stacks inside the airbox). Furthermore most stock bikes can't take advantage of the new "free-er air flow" because the real restriction is in the head.

You know when I would switch to pods? when I was using better carbs and the stock airbox doesn't work, or when I have a different cam/head porting combination.

so what am I trying to say here? well Pods suck for a stock bike.

No, the misfiring was due to it being way off time. New head gasket installed plus re-time = beautiful. Until my cam chain thingy broke.
