    Clip on Shims

    Anyone ever thought of using something like this and cutting it down?

    I'm struggling with spending 1/3 of the purchase price of the bike to get some 31mm clip ons for my CB 175.

    You can get brass shim stock for maybe a buck, though $7 isn't particularly terrible.
    Another thought....give Champ here on the boards a holler. He makes nice clip-ons for pretty damn few dollars.

    +1 on Champ. Well made clip-ons for not a lot of money. Why mess about with shims when you can buy the correct sized clip-ons?

    i only have 32-33-34-35-36 and 38mm clip ons

    if you're going to shim, i would use 33-34 that way you have some meat around the fork tube as the sizes are true to size.

    you can get them on ebay...search for 250champ
