I'd say the motorcycle you select is directly proportional to the size of your wallet. Got a low budget - buy a production bike and make payments... At least you will be riding...

Isn't there a Swansea in Canada, too? I guess the one in Wales is older and probably has more 70's BSAs than a Canadian one. Do the Welsh drink as many beers as the Canadians, eh?

I would think some beers and a BSA A-65 in a shed should end up with a pretty nice cafe by the end of winter.

Even if it doesn't turn out nice, it was time well spent.

Excellent point. I think I need to spend some time in my shed with some beers and a bike. My wife thinks my shed is too yucky to enter. it works out well for me.

I always loved the OIF BSAs despite everyone else hating them. I always thought it would be fun to do a NorBSA since those engines are mostly triumph but still have the BSA power egg case shape.

Should be a lot more 70's Honda's than anything else, all the British bikes were getting crazy prices 30 yrs ago
A65 is pretty good though, I always liked them way better than Bonneville (plus, you can get them up to around 900cc 75+bhp)
SRM isn't too far to go for serious work over (Aberystwyth, I only visited them when they were starting up in Penarth)
I used to work in Swansea in 1990, 3M motorcycles, side street off the end of Kingsway (Mervyn's marvelous motorbikes )
We never opened shop on Saturdays when swans were playing (soccer team) too many hooligans looking for something to 'do' before, after or during games.
