you are just looking to justify what you want, not what's best. Be honest with yourself. If ebay is your only resource then maybe you shouldn't be playing tinker toys with bikes. My local bike "shop" and used parts seller had a complete 1989 hurricane front end from top clamp to wheel for $125 cash. The parts selection I recommended keep you as close to stock geometry as you can get with this sort of swap, are almost 100% bolt on, and are a common swap that has been tested and works.

You are going to spend $1000 either way you slice it. With your existing parts you are just setting yourself up for more work and you are not gauranteed a positive result. In fact you are setting yourself up to fail because you are in experienced with bikes and don't fully understand the concepts that separate them from cars (bikes handle in three dimensions not 2, and handle completely different leaned over than upright).

Do what you want. you aren't going to listen to anybody anyway - you are just going to be that stubborn asshole that needs to learn by failing and is going to have an excuse for everything.

If you swap that sharpie for some engineers blue and a scribe you'll get a lot more accuracy when it comes around to cutting.

    *sigh*

good luck. I finally basically gave up on my DOHC 750. It was a "C" turd anyway.

    Honda S90 (box of parts)
    Honda CB750C (runs)
    The Others (mostly rolling wounded)

My collar may be a little frayed, and maybe I need a shoeshine. But nobody\'s got a mortgage on my soul. I own it. Free and clear. -Phil Lovecraft
