    CB750 springs into a CB650 fork?

hey, i am wondering if it could work out ok. i know the 750s are heavier so i figured a used set of 750 fork springs might do the trick in the 650. anyone? anyone? bueller? bueller?

I am not that sure the 650s are all that much lighter than the 750s. and the 750 fork is kinda soft to begin with so the springs probably not going to help. Now, racetech makes an emulator for 35mm forks that that is a different story but it costs.

Offhand how long are your forks? There are 3 different fork sizes for the cb750 and I have two here.

I would try instead a heavier fork oil.

well, a fone call to my man Dean at baltimore cycle salvage solved the problem (or so i think) he had a new set of CB750F progressive springs.

HA! as it damn turns out, springs are too fat!

    by the way, 1981 cb650's are 199kg/437lbs and 1981 cb750's are 243kg/536lbs!

anyone know hidden places to get some good springs for cb650s?

I thought you meant SOHC fork springs. I didn't realize you were going to use 1981 DOHC supersport springs. If you are looking for a cb750 closer to your 650, it would be the 1977-78 supersports since they had comstars and the front ends are different from most of the DOHCs (except for early to mid 1979 supersports). Also I think the nighthawk was the same bike for one year (or used the same engine) before going driveshaft on the 650s.
