    You've got the CB450, right?

OK, to help you out, first tell me how many wires you have coming TO the original switch.

Then tell me how many contacts are on the bottom of your toggle switch.

Then tell me how many positions your toggle switch has - two (OFF-ON) or three(ON-OFF-ON).

Then tell me what wires are connected to what terminals on the switch.

Better yet, post a picture of the bottom of the switch as you've got it wired up.

I think I remember my Honda color codes.
Red is the hot from your battery
Black is the switched hot. It will also connect up to the headlights also.
    Brown is the taillights
and brown with white tracer is the parking circuit, I think.
The red should be hooked up to one side of the switch and black to the other. If you want other lights then they should be hooked up to the same side as the black.
Working from memory, that is how I would try it first.
