simple question without laws dictating we must muff strictly (WHICH I HATE THINKING OF HAPPENING)
is it time yet for a much better muffler ?
who will buy magic mufflers?
i doubt the lookat me croewd
but with flat track racing becoming a rage ,promotors are going to find it difficult to have evening racing with as loud as most race bikesare
even boomboxes on the big twins emmit a harkening bark
yes i know intake is a large part of overall noise but it can be debarked somewhat without power loss if need be
i feel if the exhuast becomes super quiet then the intake can be left alone
ime hurting the sound hurts the volumetric efficiency and hence peak torque, but not so much the overall power.
what do you mean by magic muffler?
itsa design had never seen then or since
something i invented
itv takes the bark off a 2 or 4 stroke i mean muzzles thebark
it is straight thru more or less no dams or derversions
,why nobody had done it yet (30yearsago) or since i just dont know
it is simple, the design, to me......and very logical too as to why it works so well
but maybe just enough dif to not pop up in others heads...
simply a different take internally,on sound absorbtion that is
when the ideahit me and i tested the first unit on my kdx200 it wasastounding how quite it is
did further testing to prove viability on cr500 outlaw kart(built with more flow cap of course) with the help of one of the fastest pros ever to cartwheel a kart lolm
did some testing on tt500 machine makes it sound like a 441bsa lol all rattly no bark
there was no interst that i could muster at the time from investors
the design is in my head now as welll as the tooling i had made for forming internals

Long, long time ago Allis-Chalmers made an exhaust system for their bulldozers that did not use a typical muffler, the design incorporated a chamber containing a simple reverse cone shape that reflects the exhaust pulse back onto itself to negate the sound.
Deutz might have been the manufacturer, I'm not certain and couldn't find anything about it on the internet in less then 3 minutes, but I'm sure it exists because my father-in-law had one. Huge machine that also incorporated a turbo charger, turbos also serve to quiet an engines exhaust slightly.
... it was far from what you would call lightweight.

There are increasing noise issues from neighbors of tracks, so tracks are paying more attention to it. There may be an emerging market for such a muffler.
I like my shocks like I like my carryout. Cheap and Chinese.
no point it just being in your head.
i have a plan to fab up some proto testers
a pair for my 350 twin
its too loud now (honda 250 mx twin muffs )
to start tesing againg my plan is to use the nice looking hondabodies for 350 twin test 1rts fase and use my internals
i got no dyno....... but wait bad idea i need to keep the muffs that are on it now, unmolested
so its easier to do simple back to back tests
thanks for the input, much obliged fellas
