I have always found the Aus governments attitude to the environment a little confusing.

The banning of leaded fuel and Avgas for racing will have a minimal effect on the environment given the size of the country and relatively small population, this fact alone makes the decision even more bizarre. Yet the same country is digging its guts and selling itself to the Chinese by the pound. Australia is the largest exporter of coal in the world and burn more per head than any country in Europe. I believe mining activities (coal, gold, silver, copper, aluminium, mica and other silicates, uranium, diamonds, etc etc ) makes up 14% of Aus GDP but it seems no body is too bothered that western Australia is becoming a hole in the ground but perhaps mine is just an outsiders view.

Tell your government to burn 0.01% less coal for a year so you guys can race on 100% avgas for the next 100 years.

Your sausage factory appears to be even worse than ours. Try importing a vintage motorcycle into Aus. The asbestos police will turn you into a unic.

Oh the irony, who is one of the biggest exporters of Asbestos? Yep you guessed it Australia, asbestos is silicate. Tell the border authorities if they find asbestos that it's just an Australian product returning home. the effin tossers. And whilst your car or bike is being ripped apart by border control, just a few hundred meters away down the Quayside is a cargo ship with a 1000 tonnes of the stuff on board.

Actually it is a copy built by a very talented fellow and going on the block so you can buy it if you wish. He also built the V4 and it too will be going up for auction. Here is a link to a few more photos and some info on the builder..... and it is safe to use the term "builder" in this case. He has another interesting HRDon (Norvin) coming down the pipe.

The Velobanjogent: The Roarer re-created...Dan Smith in Vancouver, B.C.,Canada builds a second Velocette Roarer from scratch and The Velobanjogent called in for a "photographic look"...

Yamaha TZ500G 1980 (not mine) and Ex Dave Potter.

This was Dave’s number two bike in 1980 and then updated for 1981 it became Dave’s number 1 500. Often it’s difficult to trace the history of a race bike but in this case the rear wheel had “Broad” painted on the hub. A quick check of the chassis number against Teds log books and there was the frame number.

I take no credit for the restoration, however we did source all of the bodywork, sort the new paint and reunited the original fuel tank with the bike - complete with war wounds, the tank was carefully touched in, blended and lacquered. The fuel tank had been stored by Ted Broad since 1981 after Dave’s Oulton crash.

A fine tribute to Dave and Ted.

I don't know if the mid '80s are "vintage" enough, but...
