new coils for CB350 w/ points?

    Hi,
I'm rebuilding a CB350 and the coils look like they have moss growing on them... What are you guys using for replacements? At present I'm staying with points and the only thing I've found so far is the Dynatek DC-3's and they're HUGE... hard to fit onto the bracket and under the tank.
    Thanks!

Moss be damned, if the spark is fine stay with the stockers.

Dyna coils can be made to fit with a few "alterations" to the stock bracket. Or just toss the bracket and hose clamp or zip tie them in there. Seriously.

ya, i hear you, but no, the spark is gone on one side (i believe the north side, where all the moss grows!) what about this? it's 3 ohm, but with 2 leads from one coil... would that work?

OMG, is it that simple? just buy vfr750 coils? do they fit in the 350 brackets? that would be ideal as it would save me from modifying anything...

i think they bolt into the old brackets. they are quite a bit smaller. and it may be all the vfr coils work. but i know we setup bj's racebike with vfr coils. they are not plug and play. the connections are different. oh shit, and they dont use the condensor. so maybe scratch that idea. or find someone who knows if the condensor is absolutely needed. (clueless about that stuff here) the vfr was a cdi ig, and you can burn up the coil, or the points without the condenser. then again, the cheapo coils from jcwhitney have no provision ofr a sondenser, and neither do the coils from dyna. so, big puzzle there. but yes, they did work. really, any coil with the correct resistance should work for you. its just he found those super cheap. and they are honda bits.

dammit! i'm not sure why this is so hard... there are zillions of cb350's out there. stock coils are 40 years old and nfg anymore, and yet no one seems to know how they're keeping their bikes running... surely not EVERYONE has dyna's at $90 each with a fabrication job to install them... i mean i get that almost any 3 ohm coil will work, but isn't there something that bolts right in, or do ALL cb350's have modded ignition systems?
