What's the likely damage to a battery that's been sitting around with seriously low fluid levels (1-2" beneath the 'lowest level' line)?

New-to-me motorcycle: I accidentally left the lights on all day (d'oh), drained the charge rather completely. It kick started, got me home fine. Removed the battery to tricklecharge (first time I've had it off the bike), and had trouble seeing the levels. Topped them off and realized how low they'd sunk.

Prior to this, the battery seemed to be holding a charge well, so I'm not worried about it in the short term. Just curious if there's any need to keep a closer eye on it in the future.

If the exposed element dried out I believe it's toast. It won't recharge to 100%. I'd replace it if you plan on riding at night...
