1971 JAWA California 350 Two Stroke, $200 or best offer. The good:
This is the most complete JAWA I have ever seen. It
even has the factory bicycle pump for if you get a
flat. The only thing missing is the screw to hold the
right side cover on. The bad: this is a serious
project bike. It has spent the last 10 years in a
garden shed which has not been kind. The front drum is
seized (shoes rusted to the liners) and the engine is
seized (piston rings rusted to the bore) The paintwork
is ok and could probably be salavged with a wet sand
and polish but eastern european chrome was the worst
in the world in the 70s and all the chrome on this
bike has come off in sheets and been replaced by rust.
What is nice is that the metal underneath has just
surface rust (the handlebar has pits but the wire
brush has shown me that they are not deep. You could
have a very presentable bike if you painted all the
chrome parts black and restored it that way. Comes
with a bunch of other parts I picked up at a swap meet
including a useable tank, good carb, electrics, and
some cut down fenders (incase you want to build a
cafe or bobber). Bike looks like a superhawk, so it
should make a nice really different ride. There are
pleny of parts places in california and germany
specalizing in these bikes so parts are common.
Coolest feature - the gearshift rotates back to become
the kickstart.

$200 or best offer. Comes with parts (see last pics). Will consider cb750 parts trades. E-mail me [email protected]

It's all I can do to resist this bike. I remember when you could order one from the back of Cycle Guide magazine for cheap money.
Nope, can't take on another puppy right now.
Real sorry...

Geeto67, where are you? Can you deliver to Buffalo? I won't be back in the area until early March but I might be pursuaded to take this thing off you hands. Is the issue that you really need to get it out of sight or do you just want to transfer responsibility for it to someone else? Let me know.

I live in the NYC area. I've been looking for an excuse to go back to Rochester for a while (I'm from there originally) and a friend of mine and I were planning a trip in a couple of weeks, so delivery to buffalo might be possible.

The issue is that I own approximatley 21 motorcycles and about half are full on project bikes. I would like to keep it but I am completely out of garage space and my project budget is really allocated to other bikes. This bike was on the way to the metal recyclers and a tow truck friend of mine knew I would want to save it so he came to me with it. $200 represents the cost of saving it (I had to pay the towing costs) and the cost of the other parts I acquired. Actually now that I think about it I am probably losing money on it but I would rather lose some small amount of money than have to see it getting snowed on all winter.

I am totally open to a trade for parts for any of the bikes I own:

SOHC cb750
DOHC CB750/900F
GS750 (77-79)
T500
SOHC cb550
Kawasaki H1 500

If you got a front end, or an exhaust, or a seat, or some rearsets lying around you are not using and want this bike let me know.

A while back you mentioned going up to Rochester about now. If you are taking Rt 17 (it may have a different name now as they were going to make it an interstate) up to Binghamton to get 81, and can meet me at the Roscoe exit on Rt 17 I will take it, BUT it has to be able to roll freely. If I read correctly the front brake is seized up.

Not sure what on earth I will do with it, but I did have one in 72 and I am trying to rebuy my youth ( got the 160 honda dream, looking for a BLUE 66 honda CA100).

the brake shoes have rusted to the liner (common problem with drum brakes. I just haven't had time to crack it free. I'll probably work on that this week.

I have scrubbed my trip to rochester till after the new year because of health problems in my family.

Tex,

Unfortunately I can't make it. I don't have any vacation on this job and it would be a little expensive. The next time I'm in the area will probably be mid March. I am going to try to make it to Daytona this year though.
