Hi,

I have a 1974 Honda CB 360 for sale. It's just been sitting in my garage unused. I bought it as a project to work on but I never really had the time for it. As you can see, its definitely a project motorcycle. Good for a Cafe Racer project. It did run when I got it but these old bikes need their carburetors cleaned out if it's been sitting unused for a long time. Similar bikes in good condition go for at least 2000 on craigslist. I'd be willing to let it go for ~1,500. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

is 1500 too much? let me know what you think is fair and we can go from there
Oh i see your point. I could definitely clean the bike up and wipe off all the dust to make it look more presentable. I'm not sure if I would say it is half the bike. Although, I of course am biased.
Is $1,100 a more reasonable price?
honestly, i'd say more around $500-700

you have to figure it's going to need a full service, to include (at minimum)

wheel bearings
steering bearings
fork oil
motor oil
filter
tires
battery

Missing a bunch of parts , seat is pooched, doesn't run and a dent in the gas tank...that's just looking at the pictures. Bushings, bearings, brake linings, seals, chain, sprockets etc. may all need to be done. Although you never know, some sap may be willing to pay too much.
lol woodsman. i just need the money to pay for a root canal and crown.

Unfortunately what you need has no bearing on it's value.

Because I feel kinda sorry for you I'm going to make some recommendations that might help you flog your bike:
1) buy some steel wool and use it to clean off all of the paint on the parts that should have never been painted.
2) put the front fender and all the other parts back on if you have them, the bike looks like it has been crashed and is now incomplete.
3) clean the bike and do that by hand, do not use a power washer use some spray cleaner and an old toothbrush and rags to get into all the hard to reach spots.

I have no idea how you can make that seat look any better, but it really detracts from the bikes resale value. I think you could ask for 1500$ if you could demonstrate it running, but if all it needs is the carbs cleaned to make it run then don't say that, do it! All of the problems will be in the bottom half of the carburetors and it takes all of 4 screws on each carb to get to the problem area, don't even touch anything inside the top half of the carbs. That little light indicator that you currently have bolted to where the tach is suppose to be :/ that is suppose to be connected to that tiny bracket between the speedo and the tach, if looks totally wrong where you have it. Do you have a key for the bike? Put the key in the ignition and adjust the mirrors so they look like they are in the correct position for your next series of photos, then you might see an offer over 1000$ for it.
Good luck with that.

Oh ya, btw don't tell people it would make a good anything other then a motorcycle because that is what you are trying to sell, an old neglected motorcycle.

Bummer, I had one of those, I told my dentist to just pull it. Extractions cost less then 200 and that tooth will never give you any more trouble. ... unless it's a front tooth :D you want to keep those as long as possible.

Thanks man. I'll do recommendations 1 and 3. I don't think I have the front fender. Might have left that piece back at my old place in San Diego. I think I can get the bike running again. I once cleaned out the carb myself a long time ago and got it running. Not sure what you mean by the Tach. I do have the keys. I"ll go ahead and adjust the mirrors too. Thanks for the suggestions.

Oof that sounds gnarly lol

Its the back molar tooth that i need to get fixed. Whatever, I'm just gonna do it and resolve to take better care of my teeth going forward.
Tach = tachometer. The round thing that is suppose to sit beside the speedometer but indicates you how fast the engine is turning over. You've got a few things missing from the bike that some buyers would want to be there. But maybe you'll get lucky, incomplete motorcycles are very popular right now.
