So in order to make room for future projects, I'm putting my 1979 GS750E out there...

I believe the motor is stock.

When I bought the bike I did tune up to include valve shims, carb synch, and valve cover gasket. I also wired up lights and blinkers. This bike originally had hardly any wiring, and what was there was a mess. I went through and added what I needed to, using crimp connectors and heat wrap. It works and is reliable. That being said, a future upgrade would be a stock wiring harness and controls (I had to make do with gutted light/blinker controls). I would also consider a future rebuild of the front calipers. They work fine, but you can see the rubber boots are torn. The rear brake could use a new rubber or braided steel line and it needs the occasional bleeding (haven't gotten around to figuring out the cause yet).

There is no key. blinkers are on a three way switch, lights are an on or off switch plus a high/low switch, and the ignition is on/off from the kill switch.

The bike has electric start and kick start. the kick starter lever can be taken off, so if you disconnect the starter and go kick only, the lever can be used as the "key".

The bike also comes with the following:
1x spare carburetor bank for parts (has stuck slides)
1x spare tail piece
1x spare tank
1x spare seat cover
1x front number plate
1x Clymer manual and assorted notes/receipts
1x modified stator cover (notched for more cornering clearance)

I ride this bike almost daily and it has been dead reliable. It pulls strongly through all gears. This bike proudly wears the scars of it's past life. This bike can be made track ready with only a few changes.

I'm not sure what it's really worth, so make me an offer.

I'll upload more pictures when I get home.

Love it..... apart from the steering damper which only appears to damp the right end of the oscillation... on left lock there will be little to no damping effect as the motion of oscillation is almost at right angles to the damper. and it appears to be mounted using a flimsy bracket.

Other than that, nice little muscle bike for someone.
I wonder if the damper has enough travel that you could flip that fork clamp to the other side?
Shit, I didn't realize how much money I spent on putting this together

I don't even want to start tallying the Z1 receipts

It's all to do with the swing of the leg regards the mount to the frame. Fat bikes with skinny fronts throw up lots of problems regarding fork to frame dampers and it's magnified by short throw dampers like the one in question.

You've already near doubled your first bid...... how bad ja want it??????
No its still worth 800 or less to me

To be honest i just wouldnt buy it. Lots better bikes for cheap out there.

I paid 250 for my 79 kz650sr D2 in fantastic condition
I used to pay less than £500 a go for workable lc's.....

now, that will buy you a decent picture of one.
It's two weeks before xmas and he wants to sell it..... If I was the buyer I'd bring you with me... If I was standing next to the seller I'd say take your flat bed and find an $800 hat to fuck.....
I love the jimmie rustling!

It's not a necessity for me to sell... or trade...
It's two weeks before xmas and he's not fussed about selling it...... go fuck your hat......

lol....
