Hasn't Ahrma always had a 350GP class with those bikes eligible? That's the Dave Roper (Aermacchi) class isn't it? Or did I miss something?

They're trying to get more non-cb350 350s racing.
Museum class racing, half the bikes on that list would be too valuable to race when the most you can win is an enhanced trophy.

I assume you've never been to an AHRMA race. There are the real deal race bikes from that era on the track racing to the limit. The guys racing them aren't worried about an enhanced trophy. You might not see a lot of Pattons on the track at most events in the series but you will see an ex Cal Rayborn Aermacchi.
Well first of all if I was at an AHRMA race I would be out of the country :|
and up here remember you can take your population and divide it by ten then spread those people out over a larger (snow covered right now) area.
The only place I could find half the bikes on that list up here is in somebody's museum, and that is if I am very lucky.

All I need is a pre 1968
Bianchi “works”, Moto Guzzi single, Moto Rumi “works”, MV triple, Honda CR77 “works”, MZ “works” 250 twin, or BSA 350 OHV single
... actually I could have had a nice little pre 68 BSA 350 single once, a guy wanted to trade me my BMW K100RS for it :/ it was far from race ready, was a barn find.

You seem to profess a lot of expertise about an organization and a racing discipline with which you have no experience.
Are you not allowed to leave your country or are you not allowed in ours? I just wonder since your perspective always seems to be based on what is allowed in Canada, not what might be acceptable or legal in the real world.
I think I might finish up my ongoing DT1 project as it fits in this class. However, the closest AHRMA race for me is Road America and the idea of running a 250 2 stroke air-cooled single on that track has me concerned. I have way better bikes for that track that are AHRMA legal.
Craig, I still have your DT250 in the garage. I haven't even stolen any parts off of it, yet. I either need to get you the bike of your money back.

Nope, I don't know squat about it except it sounds like fun.

Right now the lake is just starting to freeze over and I'm thinking about mounting studding tires because it's a cheap fun way to keep riding in winter.
& with all this fresh ice, why would I want to travel to a country where I can't drink the water and my dollar is worth 75 cents

We have plenty of ice on our lake right now. I have always wanted to get good at ice racing, I just can't get a good feel with it. I used to do some iceracing in Wisconsin on three wheelers. That was awesome, cause you can't fall off very easily.
You can drink the water in parts of the US.

Ken, I'd prefer the bike but I couldn't pick it up before spring. It's your call, if you want to use it for yourself or just want the room the money is fine too.
You racing anywhere in the lower 48 this year?
I am not sure what I am going to do for racing this year. I have been talking about doing some endurance races with a friend on an SV650. I also might just race my SV a few times and not mess with the vintage stuff or maybe do Mid-Ohio and race the SV and a vintage bike. I just don't have much time in the summers until I retire in about 2 years. As far as the DT goes, I don't need the room in the garage and since I have had it for 8 or 9 years already, I'll just keep hanging on to it until I can deliver it. Are you going to come to Road America this year?
Ken, Road America is on my list for this year, but it's been on my list for a couple of years and I haven't been there but once. Maybe this year will be the year.
Road America is only about 4 hrs for me, the closest track, except Brainerd and I don't like Brainerd. If you are going to be there, I would make it over and probably just run the SV and maybe the Seca 550. Let's keep it as a plan for now.

What is on your list? I'm only looking at one USCRA date this year. The schedule kind of stinks.

NHMS 6/8
Canaan or Mid Ohio 7/6
Road America 7/27
Canaan or Gingerman (probably Canaan) 8/3
NHMS 9/2

I've beaten Roper once. It was raining pretty hard and he was breaking in a new motor. Probably more due to the breaking in the new motor than the rain. And it was his 250. I've also passed him two other times. Once when he crashed. Once under a waving yellow. So yeah, I'm not taking that bet.
$20- on Roper for the championship
Depending on how many races Paul Germain is entering I might take that bet.
