this might be a wild goose chase but does anybody know if suzuki ever made a twin 650 in the late 70's? I know about the 80's Tempter model but in fifteen years of dealing with relics I've never seen or heard of a 70's twin over 450cc. Any clues?

Thanks for any info.

as far as I know....no. They have made other parallel twins in two stroke (t500, GT500, t350, etc) and 4 stroke (gs400,450, 500e, etc) but no xs650 type bike that I can think of.

if you have some time to kill here is a listing of all suzuki models:

BTW my favorite bun underappreciated suzuki of all time has to be the xn85 - turbo 850cc motorcycle, what is not to love? They also did the RE5 wankel, a good idea but bad execution.

Anyway, I'm going to go ahead and say no - there is no 650 suzuki twin from the 70's

thanks for the responses, guys. had the customer come in saturday, and lo and behold, the bike had become a honda instead. knowing honda's only 650 twin was the CX/GL and liquid, finally got him to call me while looking at the bike; turns out it's a yamaha XS650. just a lesson to me not to believe some of these crazy folks with old bikes! (emphasis on crazy, mind you)
