Hi everyone!
So I'm just going to jump right in. I've recently bought a 1970 Honda SL350 K0 that has a 74 Honda CB350 Twin motor. The bike idles great at around 1,100 just sitting in the drive way and on a quick trip around the block. But when you ride it for a longer period of time it starts to die at stops and won't idle anymore. The bike has an electric start and will start right back up but you have to pull the throttle to keep it running.
I've checked the oil inspection bolt to make sure oil was making it's way up and it is. I also checked the intake manifolds to make sure there weren't any holes and those look really new. The carburetors (cv type) look really clean based off what I can see externally. The spark plugs are new and look good after riding for a bit (no carbon deposits etc). I just replaced the exhaust gaskets but the right side does show a bit of a leak when crank the throttle fast, but doesn't appear to leak when you're just cruising around. I can't seem to figure out why it's still leaking with the new gaskets or if that's what is causing the bike to die. Any help or ideas are appreciated!!
