I am resurecting an old 1975 Honda CB550 four. My gas tank is rusted thru in a few spots. I would like something with a tad more capacity than the stock tank. What other tanks will fit the 75 CB550 frame ?.

go up to a cb750 tank cb tanks in general have tha same forward mount.
clearance under that tank for coils and back bone are what you need to look at .its always nice to look at the bottom of your tank and go to a bike salvage yard and see if one has clearance.
when your changing a tank from stock you have to do what it takes to make it work rear mount position may need to be moved to suit that may mean seat mods to.
Its trial and error.But cool when you find some thing that works and looks cool.

The 550F(Super Sport) tank is bigger and will fit right on. I thing 5 gal versus the stock 3.7. I have one on my K bike, you just need to get the F seat (longer tank, shorter seat on the F) or go total custom.

benji makes tank seat combos for the 550 that hold more fuel and look cool. $800 starting is kinda pricey though.

We are on hold at the moment, mom is trying to die on us. I'll keep everyone posted, when we get our sanity back ( like we ever had any to start with )
