Got a 79 Suzuki GS1000L we're building into a cafe racer and having a ton of rusted fuel tank issues. I was hoping to save it but it doesnt look good as it rusted inside through to the emblem screw holes on the sides. Tried everything and it looks as though a replacement would be my best option but I cant seem to find a reproduction like it. Found several "universal" tanks on ebay that say they'll fit my model, but not sure how reliable that is or how it will fit up against my seat. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ignore the cheap universal tanks.
They will probably have as many holes in as your original.
Avoid unless you are handy with a brazing rod.

Ebay is your friend the gs1000 was a pretty popular bike.
Just have a search for the tank and study the pics intently.

Ignore shiny paint what you really want is a clean looking interior of the tank.
