Drag a magnet through the oil. Does it come out with shite stuck to it? If so, you've got issues. Stop the clutchless shifts....

Otherwise, its clutch fibers and ring blow-by that's making the oil dark.

Always good to hear. When I rebuilt my CB450 two years ago, I was amazed by the amount of sludge/crap in the bottom of the cases. Took me a while to get it all out. 30 year old engines, ya know...
