I'm heading to London, England, this coming weekend (Dec 1st - Dec 4th) and im hoping to check out Ace Cafe for the hell of it when im there.
Anyone have details on where to find it / anything else worth doing over there?
I'm going with my buddy who's visiting his lady over there and I've never been in england (or anywhere in europe) before.

Suggestions? Anyone else gonna be there next weekend? Any idea where to stay?? Hostels, Hotels, Families that rent rooms out??

It's a bit of a hastey trip... I have to get a rush on my pasport, only booked it tonight.

When my wife & I went to Glasgow, I read "The Glasgow Pub Companion" during the flight over. I made notations in the book & dog eared pages, and we made our visit pub to pub. To tell the honest truth, we ended up seeing quite a bit of the city in that manner. Sometimess we ended up in a pub for only one pint, sometimes 3 or 4. Recently, we travelled to Boston in the same manner. I'd try & find a good pub guide to london. A good one willl tell you about the neighborhoods, etc. Lonely Planet travel books, though not terribly detailed, are pretty good & small enough to fit in a pocket - that way you can have a reference with you at all times. At any rate, get some sort of travel guide, and read it before you go. I'm jealous - have fun.

Take a pocket full of money with you. Seems like everything is twice the price as here.....

If you REALLY want to have fun rent a car. Its a mind bender sitting on the other side and shifting with the other hand. To add to the pot they LOVE traffic circles or "roundabouts". Just remember that you have to go clockwise. I always get the full insurance. Good thing too.....

Should be a laugh - gotta try and squeeze alot into a 3 day trip.

So noone knows of any decent cheap hotels or hostels in London?
