I have a non-running (well it will start but needs a rebuild)but mostly complete 1973 Harley/Aermacchi SS 350.
I am toying with the idea of turning it into a sort of cafe/race bike and running it at the Vintage Festival at Barber in the fall. It seems feasible after looking at the Novice Historic Production Lightweight rules.
Has anyone else ever done anything like this, had a bike pull double duty, street and race?

Big Bob outta Chicago runs his Historic Production Hvy CB750 on the street...I've seen others do it as well. Just means you leave the lights and make a quick change provision for a kickstand & kickstarter. The more you build a dedicated race bike, the harder it is to put it back on the street.

Bring the Aermacchi out, I'll race ya!:D

My Seca 550 is also my only current street bike. It only takes about 30 minutes to take offthe number plattes and install lights, mirrors and the sidestand. I also have a quieter muffler for the street. I am working on another set of wheels to so I don't wear out race rubber.
