anybody have contact info for tannermatic? What bikes do they make for?

As for Airtech, if they are advertising the prices on the web, technically they can be held to that price since it is a form of advertising, and it borders on bait and switch tactics. If you really wanted to be nasty you could report them to the Attorney General in cali for these business practices, but it doesn't solve your parts problem.

I used to recommend them because for the longest time they were the only company making cr750 parts for the cb750 and also because they claim to have the old greasy dick molds made from an original cr750. Now there are other companies who make the tank with better quality for less money but not so many make the fairing. The only thing I ever bought from them was a tracker style seat which was quite durable and lasted a long time on my bike before I traided it to a friend. They are still the only company making fiberglass parts for a lot of obscure bikes, and some of their artistic stuff is pretty neat, but if you can get it somewhere else for cheaper than by all means.

I will mention however that they are also one of the few fiberglass companies that will produce any of their parts in carbon fiber (for a hugh extra cost of course). Can you imagine how badass it would be to have a carbon fiber cr750. I get a woodie just thinking about it.

Monkey,

I was thinking about trying to get a one piece body made like the old tracy bodies, but this time using a traditional tail section and a hinda supersport tank. I can supply a tank and seat. we'll talk more as I get a better idea of what I want to do.

not that your project isn't interesting..... but i am kinda pressd for spare time ... my wife is undergoing treatment for cancer and i have a two year old son.

i have a limited collection of tooling for replica parts and some custom stuff of mine. but everything is for common bikes that race in our club. i have a list of crap to build for certain individuals. it has to be a part that i am interested in for personal reasons, a high payin gig etc etc to get me to bust out a custom thing. sometimes it just ain't worth it.

Sorry to hear about your wife. I hope she is doing well.

I catch your meaning...good luck

Let me pose this question to you: could you do the molds for somethins smaller like a left and right 1977-78 cb750F side cover? How many would I need to buy to have the left cover made for under $40 per piece? (I could provide a spare if you want to make the pattern from). If you do the mold would the same mold be good for carbon fiber? How much would you want to do just the molds?

i could...but.......

cases are cool, but if ya laid it down, kiss them goodbye. i hate making clearcoated carbon because it is cheesy. i like to leave things raw out of the mold or paint em. 7 layers of clearcoat with wetsanding and buffing is silly for a racebike. i would rather eat glass.

i really don't have time to mold side covers cause my heart is not into 750 hondas. i build custon sailboats and powerboats all day long. so if i can't gain anything from it.. than the hell with it.

i know i sound kinda nasty, but i have been screwed over too many times cause i am too damn nice.

now if ya want stuff for your cb 350 or 450 or a 175.. now your talkin my language.

word

I gotcha, I don't own a cb350, 450 or 175, but there is a market for the 77-78 supersport sidecovers, originals are getting over $100 off ebay. I figured if it was cheap enough to do the mold I would either pay for the mold or get a group together for a bulk purchase. but if you heart ain't in it I understand. I know the feeling when your hobby feels like a second job.
