Monkey,

I was thinking about trying to get a one piece body made like the old tracy bodies, but this time using a traditional tail section and a hinda supersport tank. I can supply a tank and seat. we'll talk more as I get a better idea of what I want to do.

not that your project isn't interesting..... but i am kinda pressd for spare time ... my wife is undergoing treatment for cancer and i have a two year old son.

i have a limited collection of tooling for replica parts and some custom stuff of mine. but everything is for common bikes that race in our club. i have a list of crap to build for certain individuals. it has to be a part that i am interested in for personal reasons, a high payin gig etc etc to get me to bust out a custom thing. sometimes it just ain't worth it.

Sorry to hear about your wife. I hope she is doing well.

I catch your meaning...good luck

Let me pose this question to you: could you do the molds for somethins smaller like a left and right 1977-78 cb750F side cover? How many would I need to buy to have the left cover made for under $40 per piece? (I could provide a spare if you want to make the pattern from). If you do the mold would the same mold be good for carbon fiber? How much would you want to do just the molds?

i could...but.......

cases are cool, but if ya laid it down, kiss them goodbye. i hate making clearcoated carbon because it is cheesy. i like to leave things raw out of the mold or paint em. 7 layers of clearcoat with wetsanding and buffing is silly for a racebike. i would rather eat glass.

i really don't have time to mold side covers cause my heart is not into 750 hondas. i build custon sailboats and powerboats all day long. so if i can't gain anything from it.. than the hell with it.

i know i sound kinda nasty, but i have been screwed over too many times cause i am too damn nice.

now if ya want stuff for your cb 350 or 450 or a 175.. now your talkin my language.

I gotcha, I don't own a cb350, 450 or 175, but there is a market for the 77-78 supersport sidecovers, originals are getting over $100 off ebay. I figured if it was cheap enough to do the mold I would either pay for the mold or get a group together for a bulk purchase. but if you heart ain't in it I understand. I know the feeling when your hobby feels like a second job.

she had a feeding tube put in on wed. her spirits are high. she has about 14 days of radiation/ chemo left. after that about a month or so of recovery. then all set.

we got married in august right.. just before that she felt a lump in her neck. had a biopsy ... nothing showing up, so had a surgery scheduled to remove the growth. then she ended up having two
surgeries... full blown thyroid cancer. a whole bunch of infected lymph nodes. and 6-7 weeks of radiation therapy with chemo one day a week. awesome times

not really

Matt, don't know you, but I feel ya. Hang in there dude. I hope she pulls through and you two can put it behind you.
I know there's no humor in this, but to quote Red Green, " We're pullin for ya, and remember, keep your stick on the ice.."

wow that sucks. Sorry to hear that.
From the one time I've met her, she seemed like the fighting, take no shit type of person.

You guys have a kid too, right? How's the kid doing?
