from the desk of the wera pimp.....

o.k. all of you yanks up there in the great white north. who might we see down at summit point for the wera sportsman/vintage round on 4/16? will we see the triumphant return of aaron phinney and his talented crew? have his mechanics defected to perserve their sanity? will jeremy bust out his machine for a "shakedown" prior to the vintage celebration? is dalton going to do race school there or has he decided on the hawk school? will johnny b show up to put on a clinic in small displacement racing in 250/350gp on his 175? will tony the knife be there on that beautiful triumph? phast phil and steve d'angelo? evil? j "not that" d? roscoe? rob o.? bueller?

damn it man i gotta know!

there have been only three uscra racers to r.s.v.p. this date so far. myself, joe c., and the rope (on the stupid fast works 350 aermacchi). looks like the battle will be for second in 350 & 500gp.

let the taunting begin.

evil,

aaron would be the one to tell you distance/time to summit point. the track is outside of charles town, wv if you want to search mapquest.

wera fees are: $55.00 post entry ist class, $45 post entry second class, and $35/ each, post entry third or more classes. you will need a transponder for wera. they rent them at $60.00/ per weekend, or maybe one of the wera guys from around here that isn't racing will lend you theirs. don't know about that, perhaps joe c. could weigh in.

wera (i'll check my 2005 rulebook to verify if this is still the practice) used to allow racers from other organizations to compete one weekend free without buying a wera license per year. you will need a current copy of your uscra or ahrma or vrra license, etc....

camping is free, just have to pay the $25.00 gate fee.

electric isn't free, however, one or two of us pay (i think it's $25.00 also) and those who need it just chip in.

no milk drinking, but there will be some good apple moonshine there.

there will be a viewing onf the classic 70's movie "little fause and big halsey (spelling?) after racing, later that night.

if you have a dirt bike bring it along as there are a ton of trails.

there are properly plumbed bathrooms with showers.

summit sells race fuel (sunoco i think).

i think that is about it.

What I really need is someone to do it with. Everyone here in Maine is too dung out. I wanna go, but it's a long drive. Any takers? I am still waiting to hear from Lou (RD350 Champ 2004) but I don't think he'll go. His bike isn't ready yet. But either is mine.

I can barely deal with myself let alone more pains in the asses. I did go and come back Germany, to and from Daytona, and back and forth from Maine about a dozen times this winter. When I was raiding Jeremys stash this weekend, Donald asked me if I ever get sick of driving? The answer is yes and I'm to build my own race track some day so I never have to go anywhere.

I think I am going to drive to a location and then take a train in to New York. Then Friday afternoon/night I'm going totake the train back to where I left from and then drive to West Virginia. If I find out definates we could convoy. I will say that the drive to Summit isn't that bad and its well worth the drive.

I think I'm going to move in to JohnnyB's shop then I can get my bike stuff done and ride in his camper to the events. I got start working on getting Mary out of the picture.

Life and times of a vintage racer… I’m working on the manuscript now.
Aaron enters from the left furrowed brow cigarette magically stuck to his lip as he says

Maybe it sounds good only because I’m drunk… but look at the tripe on TV someone has to come up with this crap. Why shouldn't someone benefit from these Shenanigans (thank god for spell check).

4/16? in W VA? I just noticed the date. Might not be able to make it. I've a big project that's slated to be finished on....<wait for it>.... the 15th.

And I need tires and wanna swap my swingarm out.

So maybe. Its WERA, right? So we only have racing on saturday? That might actually work out...

fuck. Lets see how this week goes.
