It's not exactly cafe but I gots me another bike project. Back in high school I thought the 86 FZ600s were the baddest looking bikes out. I didn't have any money and then I got into drag racing and then circle track, but I always thought if I could find a nice one.....
So a few weeks ago there was a one owner 86 on ebay in Rhode Island. It didn't bring that much but enough that I was gonna be dissappointed if after shipping it halfway across the country it wasn't that nice. So I chickened out, but the fuse was lit...
Last week I spies me an 87 on there, nice road trip distance away. So for approximately what the new shocks for my 550 were gonna cost I am soon to be the proud owner of an 87 FZ600 basket case. Pick it up the 17th.
I realize I am probably the only guy in the world that thinks this bike is exceptionally cool. I am just reaffirming my position as "King of Lost Causes" And also believe that driving a distance to pick up a junk one is the surest way to make a nice one pop up for sale locally.
