Well, realizing I didn't do it correctly the first time. I'm now trying to get the lock nut off to get the complete filter rotor off. The lock nut is a special socket design, which I have.

I sort of thought putting it in gear would hold it still-I was wrong.

I then tried to hold the bolt at the other side where the stator is, and ended up unscrewing the wrong side.

What should I do to get this off???
